Welcome!

As part of my New Year’s resolution to start sharing my ideas with the world more regularly (God help you all), I’ve launched this blog—Media, Tech & Culture, or just MTC—as the official cyber home for my thoughts, reactions, research and original ideas on just what you’d expect: media, technology and culture.

More simply stated, I’m interested in mass media messages, the new tools used to disseminate them, and the impact these things have on both individuals and society. The web and digital technology are increasingly powerful and pervasive forces in our daily lives, delivering news media, advertising and marketing, interpersonal communication, education and entertainment 24/7 across countless platforms. This is all deserving of serious scrutiny, so why not scrutinize here….with me?

MTC will explore topics ranging from social media to the hottest new gadgets to media literacy to trends in digital news reporting to “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” (don’t judge me; they matter). MTC is also intended to spark two-way dialogue with like-minded individuals and respectful contrarians alike, so your comments, questions and links are more than welcome. In fact, they’re required. Who knows, I may even tap some of you for an expert guest post every now and then.

That’s it from me for now, but please bookmark or follow this blog for weekly posts starting Sunday, January 16th.

One down, and 52 more to go.

Peace.
